Why?

Can anyone tell me why my Black Lab licks cloth material. Is she missing some essential vitamin/mineral like couch fiber or pillow thread? She licks constantly. She sleeps in my room and all night I hear lick, lick, slurp. It kind of freaks me out, like nails on a chalk board type noise.

Caught in the act. That pillow used to have tapestry on it. She licked it off.

My Golden does the same thing, but she licks the carpet or wood floor... drives me crazy!!! and I have no idea why or how to stop it.

All I am saying is that I have an 8 year old Lhasa Apso and does the same thing, all the time. It makes me nutso!

YOU CAN NOT POST ABOUT A DOG LICKING COUCH PILLOWS WHEN YOU HAVE AN OPEN GUESSING GAME GOING ON...there are Blog Rules in Blog-Land...and this is one of them!!!!

Okay, I guess I am going to have to be the "bigger" person here, since you are not telling about the clothes. You are a real stinker!
Your dog just has a nervous habit-it's sort of a neurotic thing. I had a dog who did the same. We actually put him on prozac because he licked so much that he started getting clogged with hair and would have to give him an,- well, I will stop right there. The prozac didn't work.
On a happier note, well not happy for me, but for you I guess, my other dog is leaving similar wet spots on the couch, only it's much worse. She has congestive heart failure, is on diuretics and is leaking from the other end. I have to order her a diaper today!

Thanks for being "bigger" I'm glad we got that established up front. :)
