Rejoice

Today is the day my Lord has made
let me REJOICE in it!

I have been feeling angst lately...
I could go into all the details and justifications,
but
I won't.

It does not say...
rejoice tomorrow...
rejoice because things went well...
rejoice if it was a good day!
NO.
Rejoice today.
I am getting ready for a biopsy and colonscopy...
I rejoice.
Thank the Lord I live in a place that I have access to health care.
I am exhausted, frustrated and worn out from the responsibilities of being a mom.
Thank the Lord He has entrusted me with 6 beautiful lives.
I feel my man is missing the best parts of our children's lives...
I rejoice He works as hard as he does to provide for us.
I am lonely a lot...
I rejoice..
My God is there for me.
I am fearful of my test results and/or fearful of no answers....
I rejoice that He is sovereign.
I have struggled for 2 years with one of my adoptive kids, to the point of questioning everything..including GOD
I rejoice
in knowing He is in control and gave me a heart of stubbornness.
I am tempted to fall prey to my own sinful desires EVERYDAY...
But..
rejoice in His love.
I am often burdened to the point of breaking with what surrounds me...
But
This
is
the day
the
LORD
made
and
I will
REJOICE
in it!

I can relate to this in many ways. Our journey here on earth is fraught with disappointments, failures of others and ourselves, pain and heartache yet our God is with us "Always". We never journey alone.

My prayer is that I don't miss the sign posts along the way that point to all the mercies and goodness that come my way. To not be so caught in my own agenda that I can't appreciate the seemingly consequential blessings of everyday.
Seeing God's hand in everything assures me of his sovereign rule and the cross points us to His condescending, amazing love. We do indeed have much to rejoice in despite the evidence that would on the surface indicate otherwise.
Thanks for sharing and wishing you all God's best!
