Need Encouragement to Continue on.

I'm thinking I might be done with my blog. I have plenty to say, but seem to lack the capacity to write it all down. Maybe I'll get a video camera and start vlogging instead. Either way apathy is knocking at my door. My husband calls my blog, "Our family's legacy."
Talk about pressure. I wish I could say I blog for that reason, but no. I'm a little more vain than that. I write to connect. I write as shallow as this is..for affirmation, for friendship, for others to say, "I get you."

So here's me asking....
Should I continue.
If you are a lurker, this is your time to come out. Leave me a comment. I need your encouragement.
I know..
I'm fishing.

Seriously? You need to ask? I would love if you would continue but also understand your quandry. Your honesty is always refreshing and you have challenged me more than once. Just as long as you don't disappear from facebook. Then I would truly be distraught! :)

I'm a lurker - have enjoyed following your blog since the adoption of your twins.
You have an incredibly beautiful and generous heart! Why not continue to share and inspire AND get encouraged!

I'm a lurker even though I know you and you know me. I love being able to check in on your family from time to time. I think you should continue.

The Boster legacies are alive & breathing in your home right now. It's the seeds you are planting and cultivating in your children's hearts and the heart of your husband and those whose lives you all touch. Part of that process has been this blog. But you can't base your value or worth on the number of comments left(and I know you are thinking that even though you aren't saying it! You speak God's Word on this blog and THAT does not return void my dear!!!

I think you should continue, but I also think you should find those connections, affirmations, & friendships in your church and not solely through the internet. Maybe you just need some real life flesh and blood contact. You know what I mean?

Plus, now mom has your blog and you don't want to let her down do you? :)

i <3 reading your blog, and I hope you keep going!

I am also pretty annoyed with my blog readers.... i post things that i think are earth-shattering, and 3 of the 175ish people who read my blog comment (and those 3 are usually my mom, my husband, and a spammer, ha :)

Anyway, I feel your pain, but i really do hope that you keep your blog!

Hi, I'm a lurker. You have no idea who I am - one of Leah's coworkers from back in the day at Banana. You must continue blogging. You are such an encouragement and light! :)

Yes, it's the one way I can "connect" with what is going on in your life - directly from you. Every word counts! Even your shortest entries bring a smile or a tear. Keep going! I love you.

We all need some encouragement from time to time. I, personally would be pretty devastated if you stopped blogging. Over the last year and a half I feel like I have gained a friend by reading your blog and exchanging the occasional email and comment. I love your family. I love your kids. I love YOU! So please keep it up. Pretty please? With sugar on top. And a cherry! And then go look at my website and tell me that I'm not insane for starting a photography business and that people will actually want to hire me for my work. 'Cause I could use some encouragement right now too =) www.luckyfridaystudios.com

I love reading your blog. Your posts are always fun and/or enlightening. I would truly miss it if you were to remove it.

I just want you to know that the reason I said that about seeking the fullfillment elsewhere is because I've been where you are and still am in a huge way. I know exactly what you are saying. I thought I could "connect" through my blog but it's a very limited way to get that. So I realized this & changed my efforts. You know what I'm saying, right?

I agree with Lisa, when your blog disappeared I was bummed.

I understand your feelings. I have backed way off from blogging but I still do it a little.

Please don't stop. Find just a little time to keep at it.

I will delurk and declare myself! :-) I have posted before but have no time for much of anything these days with a house full. I feel your pain and my posting is very infrequent these days. I am hoping that I will pick it up again when our new kiddos get home.
Blessings,
Kristy

I'm officially delurking!

I've followed your blog since you were in Ethiopia and have grown to love your style of writing, the truth and vulnerability with which you share yourself and your family. I know that you have to do what is right for you and yours...but, please know that you will be dearly missed if you choose to shut down this special place!

I get you, or at least the weather you should keep blogging or not. I have had the same thoughts many times. All i can say is don't put so much pressure on yourself for what your blog "should" be. And pray about it. God will let you know if you should continue or not.

Andrea said...

I miss it when you don't write, please continue... for whatever reason that has to be ;o) Cause I happen to thing that you are not very alone in the reason you blog. ;o)

darci said...

ahem......NO YOU CAN"T STOP BLOGGING! (silly girl) and yes, that was yelling. :)

I think what Leah said is very true. As long as you are not solely relying on your blog followers for support and encouragement, then I think you should stick with it. But, at the same time, get involved with women locally. Do another women's small group at church! They are a great way to connect and have that support system, outside the fam. So selfishly, DON"T STOP :) but if you find it necessary, then we'll understand

I have left comments from time to time but can't even remember how I found out about your blog. It inspires me and encourages me and sometimes haunts me. Don't stop. If you won't to see who's following you, check in on mine.

Love your insight. Love your heart. Love your realness. Love that God is using your family's legacy (plug for your hubby) for His glory. Don't stop!

Hello! I've been lurking since before your twins came home. I can remember fervently praying for your family during those days. Without this blog many of us would have missed out on the chance to intercede on your behalf. That said, my experience is that keeping up a blog can easily take time away from what matters more. Whatever you decide, I feel blessed to have watched your family grow! Take care-
